So it bothers you that Aubrey asked, yet doesn’t seem like it would is Susie had instead?

It doesn’t sound like a toxic environment based on this one experience. Further, are you not required to keep track of your time in some way? Our district is all salary, but we still have to log into he Vector system in the main office when we come in or out each day.

Finally, I doubt she noted you weren’t at your desk for “three seconds” and assumed you were out for the day. I imagine it was more than a normal period of time for someone to go to the ladies room, or to the copier, or to the staff kitchen even.

Still, if you are unhappy you aren’t bound to your desk. You can always look for a different position at will.

This is such a dumb thing. Maybe in her office there IS an understood time and it's 12-2. Why assume her workplace is the same as the ones you've been in? It sounds more like A is causing trouble.
Because there are certain things that are understood in the corporate world. Granted, industries vary, but when dealing with clients and vendors and everyone else in the world, just being mia isn't in ops best interest. She doesn't like the new manager, period.
