Yes when I was a single mom working full time with my own apartment I got food stamps and medicaid. It’s been a long time since I got married and off assistance.
I had my oldest at 33 and youngest at 39. I’m not an “old mama”!!!!!LiveWhatULove wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 2:03 pm32, 34, and 38, when I delivered my 3, so different place in life than I was in my 20’s.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 1:44 pmWhat’s an “old mama?”LiveWhatULove wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 1:36 pm I’m an old mama. We had established careers and were living the middle class dream (of working our asses off) when kids came along, so no assistance needed.
But I am glad it is there, I get sick to think of babies or actually anyone experiencing food insecurity. It’s one of the essentials in Maslow’s heiarchy of needs.
As are all the rest of the tax credits available . And I take full advantage of what credits I qualify for.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:03 pm Of course EITC is welfare.

Tax credits are not all income based.

Lol, I hear you, but we sure are not sending our kids to college in our 40’s like those young 20’s somethingAnonymous 3 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 5:16 pmI had my oldest at 33 and youngest at 39. I said no. We did use wic for 6 months but I don't really consider that small amount welfare. Oh and dh got $400 in partial unemployment this year. But we have paid so much in. We have never gotten eic even.
