I disagree with teachers punishing students for their parents' failings.

This happened with my two and no it did not annoy me. There's an important underlying lesson here for them. It's helping teach personal responsibility. It's helping teach the child to make sure there is a signature.

I have to sign my sons. They get reward dollars every time it’s signed. There is no punishment. I just take it from his bag and initial it. Sometimes he forgets to bring the planner home. Oh well, no rewards bucks.

It's the childs job to tell you about it. Either at night or in the morning. By 3rd grade they are old enough to remember this.
