Aletheia wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2024 1:37 pm Yet you're not saying that about Israel, which they just voted to give billions of dollars in aid to?
The religious right are just now deciding to support Ukraine. (Not saying OP is part of the religious right, but she repeats much of the rhetoric.) They’ve always undoubtedly supported Israel.

Democrats are wholeheartedly voting to fund Ukraine.. are they part of the religious right?
Are Democrats the only ones supporting Ukraine or voted to support Ukraine? I think they were the only ones who were waving flags in support of Ukraine, but Republicans, many who align themselves with the religious right i.e. Mike Johnson, have agreed to send aid to Ukraine as well. So that begs the question is this just about flag waving or the actual sending money to Ukraine? And if it is about sending money why focus on Ukraine and not Israel? I attempted to answer Aletheia’s question in a general sense.

Democrats and moderate Republicans have always supported Ukraine.
Both Democrats and Republicans like war machines.

Both Russia and Ukraine want peace talks.

So on with the killing we go… the US is fine with entire generations of Ukrainians and Russians being wiped out, as they “dismiss” the wanted peace talks by both countries.

Maybe the religious right doesn’t matter… maybe, just MAYBE, we want the war more than they do…
I think that’s an extraordinarily simplistic view regarding support for Ukraine.

Isn’t it just…

And it won’t be proven true until ten years later…

Then we’ll all talk about the crimes we committed as though we should have all seen it now…

I have ZERO faith and trust in our current Congressional "leaders" anymore.

This doesn't surprise me.

I'm fed up with both the Republicans and Democrats. They're all a joke and an embarrassment.

"Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) threw down the gauntlet Sunday, challenging his Republican colleague Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) to take a trip to Ukraine and calling on him to “quit talking about things you don’t know anything about until you go.”
