What are we all thinking happens if an organ on its way to a transplant recipient doesn’t get there quick enough?

"If there is an emergency the fire department can coordinate with law enforcement and possibly get an escort for closed lanes on the opposing side of the roadway to reach you and extricate you safely and move you out of harm way and get you into the ambulance or out of the situation if necessary, said Justin Schorr, rescue captain with SFFD."

You want a study to prove that road blockades can impede emergency vehicles from getting where they need to go in the shortest amount of time possible.

In all seriousness, I don't condone straight up running them over. I do condone moving through slowly to make them move and if they don't move and get their toes run over or something, that's their problem for being where they are not supposed to be. No F's given here.

It shouldn’t need to be a case by case basis, as an nation we should be willing to say “ blocking an ambulance is not ok”

Thanks for the info.

I don't think it is appropriate to block emergency vehicles either intentionally or not intentionally which is why I indicated protests should be permitted. Any large gathering should be permitted especially as it gives emergency responders time to prepare.

I would imagine that the organizers of the protest will be fined (they should be) for an un-permitted gathering.

That could happen due to a major crash which more than likely happens more often than protests on interstates/highways. As I said earlier, no system is perfect. And there are already laws about pedestrians in roadways. What exactly do you want besides just running them over?
