Can protestors block helipads?
Yes… I’m sure they could.

Helicopters also can’t land on a crowded bridge.

We shouldn’t have to be finding ways to save lives FROM the actions of protesters.

A study to prove your assertions.

For last year and this year's incidents:

"During last year's protest, UCSF transplant organs were delayed by the Bay Bridge protest. On Monday, the San Francisco Fire Department said they didn't get any 911 emergency calls but they were ready.

"If there is an emergency the fire department can coordinate with law enforcement and possibly get an escort for closed lanes on the opposing side of the roadway to reach you and extricate you safely and move you out of harm way and get you into the ambulance or out of the situation if necessary, said Justin Schorr, rescue captain with SFFD."

I don't think this pearl clutching is about safety.
So…

You want a study to prove that road blockades can impede emergency vehicles from getting where they need to go in the shortest amount of time possible.

“It was an orchestrated event that they put forth,” California Highway Patrol Chief Don Goodbrand said. “They blocked three separate locations on freeways. They prevented law enforcement, paramedics, ambulances from getting to their points of destination.”

It might be “pearl clutching” to you… but again, I’d support full on murder charges if someone dies from being blocked from reaching the hospital.
Only one call in two protests. That's from SFFD. It's not anecdotal evidence.

Oh, yeah, I'm certain you would.

It’s not anecdotal, it’s bizarre that you believe one out of two isn’t enough to care.

Israel is actively at war with Palestine …

If these protesters want to act like they are at war with motorists, as Tom Cotton suggested, they should be dealt with accordingly.

😂 Lobbying is A-okay as long as it's your side.

How much is being donated to fund Trump's multiple defense cases?

Most organ travel is done via aircraft. But keep them "safety reasons" coming.

You literally just read, and yourself posted that organs were delayed.

Why are you trying to act like this is not happening?

An oldie but a goodie.

In all seriousness, I don't condone straight up running them over. I do condone moving through slowly to make them move and if they don't move and get their toes run over or something, that's their problem for being where they are not supposed to be. No F's given here.

If you want, you can google “ambulance blocked by protest “ and a bunch come up…

It’s not a one time thing, blocking ambulances is happening…

It shouldn’t need to be a case by case basis, as an nation we should be willing to say “ blocking an ambulance is not ok”
I did and didn’t see what you saw which was why I asked for a link?
Edit: found an article specifically saying ambulances were blocked.

“It was an orchestrated event that they put forth,” California Highway Patrol Chief Don Goodbrand said. “They blocked three separate locations on freeways. They prevented law enforcement, paramedics, ambulances from getting to their points of destination.”

Thanks for the info.

I don't think it is appropriate to block emergency vehicles either intentionally or not intentionally which is why I indicated protests should be permitted. Any large gathering should be permitted especially as it gives emergency responders time to prepare.

I would imagine that the organizers of the protest will be fined (they should be) for an un-permitted gathering.

That could happen due to a major crash which more than likely happens more often than protests on interstates/highways. As I said earlier, no system is perfect. And there are already laws about pedestrians in roadways. What exactly do you want besides just running them over?
