Samira Sabzian, who had been in prison for the past decade, was executed at dawn in Ghezel Hesar prison in the Tehran satellite city of Karaj, the Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) group said.

IHR said Sabzian was a "child bride" who had married her husband at the age of 15 and had been a victim of domestic violence, according to relatives.

Centuries ago in Europe, it would have been quite normal for a woman to be traded in marriage by her parents, without them asking for her input or consent, and for it to happen at the age of 15 or even earlier.

What standing do we have to say "this is obviously wrong", and even invade other countries for practices we now deem to be immoral?

There's a lot to parse out with this tragic case. Child bride, convicted of murder of an abusive spouse, executed for murder.

In the US, "we" don't have a lot of standing at all to say this is wrong.
