Phoeniz, AZ, pastor Antonio Velasquez says people used to line up from '3 in the morning' to apply for food stamps and Medicaid at Maryvale district state office
But no one lined up one recent weekday morning, and there were just a handful of people inside
Velasquez says change is because of new rules that disqualify more people from green cards if they use government benefits
Deputy Homeland Security secretary Ken Cuccinelli said the government expects immigrants to 'be able to stand on their own two feet.'

I can't imagine what kind of person finds joy in taking away food stamps from a segment of the population.

That and also does this particular pastor work for the welfare office? I could say there are no lines at our unemployment office too and it's because of immigration rules. Doesn't mean it's true.WellPreserved wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 8:09 am I can't imagine what kind of person finds joy in taking away food stamps from a segment of the population.

A lot of countries have laws that prohibit immigrants with no marketable skills specifically so they don't end up on any form of welfare. They want people who will be assets not burdens. Here, apparently that's seen as a bad thing which is utterly ridiculous.
