I've never had his IQ checked but I think im going to have to insist.
IQ is NOT the issue here. The issue is clear, and it's not your son or the school.
Ok fine. I'm a shitty mom. You happy now?

Sigh. Just grow the f**k up already. You do this shit all the F***ing time. You're so F***ing rude and act like a total bitch and are proud of it. For what? Does it make you feel better about yourself to put others down?
Does it give you a warm tingly feeling inside to think about how you insulted an online stranger?
I mean seriously, what the f**k is your issue?

You know what. That's all rhetorical.
Don't bother answering.
I'm done with you. Have fun insulting me.

Today the assistant principal called to demand i come in for a meeting tomorrow morning.
I told him no, i can't just drop everything and show up. I have a job and my son doesn't have ADHD.
He told me its mandatory.
I told him its unprofessional to demand a mandatory meeting with less than 24 hours notice.

Ugh. I'm so irritated with this shit. He's been doing great at school.
Generally it's a GOOD thing if you're not contacted once by the principal. If they are asking you to get him evaluated for ADHD it does NOT mean he is having behavior or academic problems in school but rather that the teacher has noticed it is difficult to get him to stay on task. The class can't really move forward as a class if the teacher is having to stop class to get your kid back on topic (This can be an unintended disruption for the class) . With an ADHD diagnosis it allows the school to say assign a teacher's assistant to your child to help keep him focused and on task. It doesn't mean your kid has behavior issues or academic issues. Now I agree the 24 hour notice is a little bothersome but at the same time they'll want to get it resolved as quickly as possible to make sure that IF your kid has ADHD he gets the allowed assistance per state guidelines enacted as quickly as possible for his best interest.
Now chill the f**k out, call back, and say I'm sorry but that time doesn't work for me and give them a list of your available times to work with rather than flying off the F***ing handle like a lunatic because "how dare they do their jobs and try to diagnose your son without your permission". (For the record the school can't diagnose your son they can only recommend that he be examined and present you with evidence of why they think he would benefit from an examination, which is what that whole F***ing meeting is about).
Actually my ODS first school refused to do an IEP until I got him medicated because according to them he was ADHD. Yes, that is as illegal as f**k but I did not know that at the time. He was homeschooled the next few years, until we moved to a better school district.
He was not ADHD, he has an auditory processing disorder, hearing impairment, learning disability and is on the spectrum.

Do you at least know why the school wants an emergency meeting with you? I would want to know that, before telling the school to f**k off, I got work to do.

Admitting you're the problem is the first step, now you need to take steps to rectify it. Start by establishing boundaries. When your son gets in trouble at school instead of excusing it on account of his age, his gender, or his energy level, try talking to him about it? What happened at school today? Do you understand why you got in trouble? What can we do instead in the future? How can we change our behavior? That sort of thing.

You're Welcome.

If they truly did a full work-up for learning disabilities & psychological needs, to see if he qualified for an IEP, they should have done some type of intelligence testing during that time.

They did with both of my boys, one's high & one's low.

Maybe they just screen him, and if they did I personally, would demand a full evaluation if there were concerns from you OR the teachers, does that make sense?

That is correct they can't enact an IEP unless he is diagnosed with SOMETHING. IF they were aware of all the things you listed including his being on the spectrum he should have had one. Was he diagnosed before or after leaving that school? If before then they were incorrect. If after, well you can't really blame the school.

They did with my ODS. The school hasn't given me the full assessment on YDs yet, even though I've asked a couple times.
I guess I'll demand it from the principal tomorrow.

Anonymous 1 wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2020 3:37 pm So the school is having problems with your kid & has demanded that you come for a meeting & you are pissed because you dont feel a meeting about your kid is a reason to emergency change your day tomorrow?
I've done this several times this year. My kid is a rambunctious child. He gets into trouble but has been doing great lately.
He's been assessed by their own licensed therapist and his ped and no ADHD.
I'd be glad to go in and sit down if they had given me more notice. I even told them I can come in sometime next week. But no, demanded I come in tomorrow for a mandatory meeting.
what happened today that made this imperative?

Oh, I see now. "My kid is a rambunctious child" that's code for I don't F***ing bother to parent and as a result he doesn't do well with structure and acts out at school.
Hahahahahah.
You really have a F***ing screw loose.
I'm not the one pissing and moaning because the school wants my child tested for ADHD because he doesn't know when the f**k to sit down and shut up and keeps disrupting class.
Well whatever the kid's problem is they can't demand he be tested for adhd. It would have to be a serious problem for me to rush to a meeting- fighting, biting, serious threats. I've done IEP meetings by conference call so Idk why this can't be done in similar fashion. I've gotten yds tested on my own for adhd. The only time the school tests is for his IEP reassessment. Then they evaluate his speech. I'm not sure adhd is a diagnosis that requires an IEP. What the school should do is say to OP the boy has behavioral issues. We need to address this with you.
