It looks enough like an "OK" sign but it's not. It's meant to signify "white power". They even acknowledge this, they just try to pretend it's a joke on the left. That way they can get away with it.Valentina327 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:34 pmBut why is it being accepted and acknowledged? It's something that's innocuous and has been around for ages.Lemons wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:29 pmI think the ADL explained it well. The white supremacy groups decided that they like the symbol and started using it. Look at the hundreds and hundreds of photos of white supremacy groups using it. Why are they using the symbol?Valentina327 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:24 pm
I was digging through this topic after that post over the weekend and came across this article also. I'm just kind of stumped though about why the liberals/media actually bought into it in the first place and have continued to carry this forward.
The idea that it meant something other than "OK" came from 4chan, which is all tied into Q. All of this is termed by the liberals and the media as conspiracy/false/tin foil hat.
So why did the liberals and the media buy into it then and start complaining about it being a white supremacy symbol? It should have been disregarded and dismissed out of hand as something from the tin foil hat group, shouldn't it? The liberals and the media seem to have perpetuated this whole thing by talking about it, no?
Why was it accepted to be this hateful symbol and not ignored?
How the OK sign came to be used by white supremacists

Uhhhh ... to troll the base it was intended for? You’re like the poster child for why people do this shit. You literally find offense and racism in everything.

You make no sense as usual. Why would anyone care if they say OK ? They claim they made up a new WP sign not a new OK sign.

So if we are going to be fair about this....anyone white who throws the Ok sign should be investigated for connections to hate groups? What about white people who wear crosses since the Klan likes to burn them and uses them symbolically?Lemons wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:31 pmMost people, if they use the dorky symbol at all, use it as an OK symbol. But it is a fact that it is used by white supremacists. This is why the military has to do an investigation. To find out which it was.SouthernIslander wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:50 pmI looked up ADL too before I commented.Lemons wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:36 pm
OK, put the emojis down, you're looking like the person that you always criticize.
So are you claiming the Anti-Defamation League are all a bunch of idiots, who even though this is their line of work, even though they have been doing this forever, that they got this wrong? The FBI who also has a job to investigate hate groups (on the left and right), they are wrong? That the sign has not been appropriated?
The overwhelming usage of the “okay” hand gesture today is still its traditional purpose as a gesture signifying assent or approval. As a result, someone who uses the symbol cannot be assumed to be using the symbol in either a trolling or, especially, white supremacist context unless other contextual evidence exists to support the contention. Since 2017, many people have been falsely accused of being racist or white supremacist for using the “okay” gesture in its traditional and innocuous sense.

Because of the traditional meaning of the “okay” hand gesture, as well as other usages unrelated to white supremacy, particular care must be taken not to jump to conclusions about the intent behind someone who has used the gesture.
They even said most people overwhelmingly use it in a traditional context.
And it’s okay to bash the people in question and their general demographic (example: young military) before the investigation is complete and connections to hate groups has been confirmed?
I have dealt with my fair share of racism and I even think this is outlandish.
the ADL are definitely a bunch of idiots. They declared bowl haircuts a hate symbol FFS.Lemons wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:36 pmOK, put the emojis down, you're looking like the person that you always criticize. But in recent years, it (the OK sign) has also been appropriated for a more malign purpose — to signify “white power.” The gesture has become an extremist meme, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Its the sign for OKAY. pure and simple OKAY.
Only complete idiots would actually believe that one group can decide to change a centuries old hand gesture for OKAY into something racist. Only complete morons would fall for this leftist attempt at accusing everyone of being a racist who flashes the okay sign.
Its the international sign for OKAY....OKAY....OKAY
But you're right. Law enforcement, the military, the Anti-Defamation League, all idiots. You know better than them.
Like I said, manufactured outrage. Please quit spreading it.

The anti-Semitism by some in this group is obvious.
