Roasted Apple Salad with Spicy Maple-Cider Vinaigrette
We bought loads of apples and needed to use them. To help the flavors come alive, I roasted the apples and tossed them with a sweet dressing.

Honey Garlic Green Beans
Green beans are great, but they can seem ordinary on their own. Just a couple extra ingredients give them sweet and salty attitude. This is definitely my family’s favorite way to enjoy them.

Cranberry-Walnut Sweet Potatoes
If you ask me, the best part of a holiday dinner is the sweet potatoes! You can make the sauce up to a day ahead—just leave out the walnuts until you’re ready to serve.

Apple-Cranberry Relish
This fresh, ruby-colored cranberry apple relish is sweet and tangy, and the celery gives it a terrific crunch. At our house, it's a holiday menu mainstay since it's so pleasant with poultry and pork.

Roast Goose with Sweet Glaze
While goose is thought of as a traditional Christmas entree, some people do not care for the all dark meat bird. My recipe will change their mind in one bite. The sweet citrus glaze compliments the rich, juicy meat perfectly.

Mushroom Gnocchi with Arugula and Walnut Pesto
While gnocchi are made from potatoes, they typically also include flour to bind the dumplings together, so be sure to buy a gluten-free brand if you're trying to accommodate any celiac diets (or make your own if you're feeling ambitious!).

Nutty Wild Rice and Shredded Brussels Sprout Stuffed Mini Pumpkins
Those mini pumpkins aren't just for decoration — although they will add a festive flair to your table. Even better, they can be prepared up to four days in advance so all you have to do on Christmas Day is pop them in the oven for 10-20 minutes to bake.

Cheesy Root Vegetable Gratin
You can't help but eat this beautiful dish with your eyes. Luckily, you can also put it on your plate, where you get to eat the beets, parsnips, sweet potatoes, and Gruyere the old-fashioned way.
