Am i not thinking clearly?
A woman is bashing my sons Dr on facebook and another mom chipped in and said the Dr said to give benadryl for an allergic reaction and the mom claims the child actually needed an antibiotic. She got some leftover antibiotic from a friend's child and used that. Do you treat allergic reactions with antibiotics or was it probably just a coincidence that the reaction went away?? I've never heard of that.

Antibiotics are for bacterial infections. Allergies are an immune response so no you don’t use antibiotics for allergies. Total coincidence. Now maybe it wasn’t allergies and something like a sinus infection which could mimic allergy symptoms and then an antibiotic would indeed cure it.
