Whistleblower requests to testify in writing

WASHINGTON —
Lawyers for the CIA officer whose whistleblower complaint helped ignite an impeachment inquiry into President Trump have asked Congress whether their client could submit testimony in writing instead of appearing in person, according to people familiar with the matter.

Of course "he" can't show his face. There is no "he".
"He" is a group of lawyers and Democrats attempting a coup. And Schiff is one of them.

"Any meeting with lawmakers likely would need to take place in a secure room—known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF—given the sensitivity of the information at issue, according to national security lawyers and people familiar with the matter.
While those rooms are available on Capitol Hill, appearing there likely would pose additional challenges to protecting the whistleblower’s anonymity given the number of people, especially reporters, in the halls of Congress. One alternative that has been discussed is using a SCIF at an executive branch agency, people familiar with the matter said."

Knowing the fanatism of some insane Trump supporters, I think the whistleblower’s safety should be a primary concern.

no one seemed to care about keeping edward snowden or chelsea manning's identity secret and they were actual whistle blowers.

And Trump-appointed Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who has interviewed the whistleblower, would be going along with this because...?

There’s no whistleblower exception in the Espionage Act. Neither followed the appropriate procedures established for the intelligence community to make whistleblower complaints - they both leaked classified information and were charged with crimes as a result. The Trump Whistleblower didn’t.

There was an article I read a week or so ago about what happens to political whistleblowers. It pretty much only ever ends poorly for them no matter what. And with such a glut of ignorant, hateful, violent Trump supporters, I can’t imagine what would happen to them if their identities were revealed.

A defendant has the right to face their accuser.
