Yes we have no choice but to be open and yes you should definitely always be kind but her argument is lacking. There's a big big difference between disagreeing with someone and saying we have to respect the people that think LGBTQ existence is wrong and they deserve fewer rights than "normal" people.

In Bush's 8 years in office, can you give an example of Bush thinking that LGBTQ is "wrong and they deserve fewer rights than "normal" people?"
