Thunderstorms, and a 100 pound dog.

We give Heidi Bach's Rescue Remedy Pastilles when there is a thunderstorm or heavy rain. Usually 2 or 3 at a time. If it's a really bad thunderstorm, a 5mg of Buspar does the trick. But it takes a while to kick in. The Rescue Remedy is helping slowly to desensitize her reaction to thunderstorms. Her panic and anxiety is getting less. Instead of salivating and pacing, she can usually be soothed by curling up next to us now.

I don't want to hijack you post, but I got my own concerning pet dog behaviors, LOL, so I'm no help. Good luck!!
Feel free to post them! I don't mind at all. :)

Thanks for the tips everyone! I do sit with him. When I leave a room, he follows me. I try to comfort him as much as I can, but just the feel of him shaking, and knowing he's scared breaks my heart. :(

I'll give some of these suggestions a try, and hopefully find something that works for Ace. :)
