That's what my doctor told me, too. But I think it's a load of crap. I'm guessing that they re-wrote the books so that women start getting them later. An almighty dollar being saved by insurance companies.

The insurance covers it completely.Anonymous 7 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 8:41 pm Did your insurance company give you a hard time about covering the cost of it?
And if you didn't use your insurance, do you mind telling me how much it cost?

I do take the colorguard test at home and mail it to the labAnonymous 1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 6:55 pm You need a colonoscopy. "They" lowered the age from 50.
Not the same poster but ... I'm in Europe and the health department sends you one every two years and you pay nothing. Same for mammograms. You get a letter telling you to make an appointment - the results are examined by the lab and then a second time by the health department.

I wish I could have waited till 50. As it is now because of inheriting BRCA 1 I have to get yearly. Ive had to do it since 30. I want a pre-emptive mastectomy but insurance is balking and I cant afford it on my own. My breasts cause me 100% anxiety and fear.

As with every other medical test, if you're predisposed you fall out of the recommendation. Very sorry to hear about your personal plight. I can't imagine. Sending you positive vibes.Anonymous 10 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 10:36 amI wish I could have waited till 50. As it is now because of inheriting BRCA 1 I have to get yearly. Ive had to do it since 30.
