It's both precious and meaningless, imo. The universe is a vast and complex place, the fact we exist at all is amazing. The fact that we're such an infinitesimal part of everything is equally amazing.
She is too fond of books and it has turned her brain.

Life in general terms is precious. The concept of life is precious. But on an individual level, each life is unique and different and has a role to fulfill.
