A judge in the United Kingdom ruled that a mentally disabled pregnant mother must abort her baby because doctors have arbitrarily decided an abortion would be less traumatic for her than childbirth. At 22 weeks gestation, this baby can feel pain and may be viable outside the womb.

The grandmother wants the baby and wants to take care of the baby but the court is going to go ahead and force the woman to have an abortion against her will and kill a baby of a 22 week pregnancy because the woman is mentally handicap? I can't imagine wanting or requiring my mentally disabled child to carry a pregnancy to term and deliver a baby that I could then raise despite doctors saying that pregnancy and delivery would further damage my mentally disabled child. But perhaps my concern for my child's health is unusual.

How would having this wanted baby damage this mentally disabled adults health? There is nothing in the article that indicates she is at a high-risk pregnancy that could end her life if she delivered this child.
