The teacher thought it would be a fun assignment to have the kids write about the last superhero movie they watched. My daughter has never watched any of those movies (they are 8th graders) she is going to school to ask if there is anything else she can write about.

Have her pick one out and watch it. I don't think it is unreasonable assignment.

This is something easily solved. Pick a movie with a "normal" person and she can write about how they are a super hero in her eyes

There are other superhero movies besides all the Marvel ones.
The oranges of the island are like blazing fire
Amongst the emerald boughs
And the lemons are like the paleness of a lover
Who has spent the night crying.

The teacher really doesn’t need to realize anything about your family’s movie preferences. It’s incredibly entitled that you think so.

But, whatever. Don’t worry about it. Teachers always have an alternative assignment for those kids who are sheltered from the horror of age appropriate movies.

Not everyone likes superhero movies. That doesn't necessarily mean their kids are sheltered.

Just because someone has not seen any superhero movies does not mean they are sheltered. They may not like them. I don't care for them. I only watch them because of my family loving them. I haven't seen GOT..it does not mean I'm sheltered. It means I have no desire to see it...same for a lot of shows that others like these days.
