Not the birthday surprise she wanted

My daughters 9th birthday is today. She got up to find her Guinea pig dead in her cage. She loves that Guinea pig do much she is so sad. She has had her for 4 years. Dd learned to read so she could read the list of fruits and veggies her Guinea could and could not have. She would sit with her all day while she did her schoolwork (dd is homeschooled). When we went away on vacation she would ask a friend to care for her and would carefully write out care instructions. Other than reminding her to clean the cage a couple of times I've never had to remind her to take care of this Guinea pig. And now shes gone and my poor dd just keeps going "she was getting old right? It wasn't my fault was it? I took good care of her!"
It's so sad to watch her grieving.

Awww, poor kid. Hope her birthday gets better.
The oranges of the island are like blazing fire
Amongst the emerald boughs
And the lemons are like the paleness of a lover
Who has spent the night crying.

That's so rough when a pet dies on your birthday. Poor girl.

Poor girl. Guinea pigs are a tough pet to have. They really don't live too long at all. I hope she has some fun on her birthday.

Aww. Since she took such good care of it I would take her out today and let her pick out another pet. If she wants to of course.
