Remember this?

Referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, Obama said: "They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

He was right!

Can you share with the group what you think this woman should have done instead of shooting him?

It’s called self defense. And yes it’s legal. You don’t go to jail for self defense. That criminal broke into her house and brought a weapon into her bedroom she had every right to kill him. I’m only 5’1 if someone breaks into my house it means that that want to cause harm into my person. I will shoot to kill. If it comes to his life or a member of my family I’m choosing to take his life.
That is what Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon.
And it’s what I would use if someone broke into my house.
Hockey, do you mind me asking if your guns are locked away? If someone breaks in what are the chances of you calmly walking over to the gun safe and putting in your code and loading the gun and of course this person will wait for you to choose your weapon?

Call the police you know when you have seconds the police are just minutes away. Or tell the guy that he was breaking the law because ciminals stop when they’re told they shouldn’t do something

I have a lockbox in my nightstand that takes seconds to open. It’s fingerprint. I could get to most of my guns if something happens in the middle of the night. All guns are in my room

It happens way less often than children stumbling across unsecured guns and shooting themselves or someone else. I think I’ll take my chances.

I have one like this in my room. It will have to do if they get past the pit bulls.

Hope you have the good fortune to already be in your bedroom if someone ever breaks in...
