Love it! I spent some time on farms growing up and loved every minute of it.

When I was little, I lived on a farm with my 6 siblings. Each year, we'd go "hunting for turtles" in our woods. Once we each found a turtle, we'd hold "turtle races." At the end of the season, each of us would take nail polish and paint our initials on the turtle. The following season, it was always fun when we'd find our turtle from the previous year. LOL Life on the farm...doesn't get any better than that.

I wouldn't be proud of spending that much either, but expensive food isn't necessarily fattening food. The fact that some think they couldn't possibly get by on less does make me wonder what they're eating though.

A higher food budget does not necessarily translate to more food and excess calories. Eating healthy food can be expensive. American does have an obesity problem but not because Americans spend more money on food. In general, it's because we have a large percentage of the population that is food insecure (relies on low cost food items) and/or live in food deserts (no access to healthy fresh produce and proteins). $400 for a family of four is really tough. I indicated above that I do it but that's because I have a garden, we are vegetarians, and I am a farmers market manager and receive a ton of fresh fruits, veggies, bread, and sometimes meat (our kids are omnivores) from our vendors.Anonymous 11 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 8:30 pm I'm lmao at all the people saying "I could never do that we spend 400 a week for 3 people." blah blah like thats something to be proud of. no wonder Americans are so fat.
