How detailed would you get?

I have not gotten a raise at my job in many years. There is a lot of turnover in the HR dept and everywhere really. I finally found someone that supported me in this and she already talked to the HR person about it but I am also going to write a letter to the HR girl. I could attach things to the email to her to show when the last raise was and things like that. Or I could just state the facts of no raise. Would you do attachments or how detailed would you get?

If they are in the HR department they should have all your records of pay at the company. I would state why I am contacting HR, state the reason I believe I am deserving a pay increase, and give a brief timeline of past increases and salary.

You could reference or attach job performance reviews, or a enumerate the additional responsibilities you have assumed since your last increase.

Ask if you can meet with someone from HR to discuss how to move forward in your position with the company.

And do not call anyone an "HR girl" if you wish to sound professional.
