I disagree. I grew up in a Bible Belt and I have never heard anyone say shit like that. Religious extremists maybe but not nearly enough to say most of our country.
Normal people don’t think like this.

There is no one statement that could be applied as truth to any group of millions, however for the majority of highly Christian religious people ( of which I would say make up 85% of midwesterners and southerners) there is a large bit of theology attached to politics.
Actually, Almost everywhere in the world has a huge amount of religious theology attached to politics.
That’s not extremist, that’s normal for almost everywhere in the world if you interchange Christian for whatever religion the country is.

That they believe human action can influence their beliefs?
That they believe where their God came from should remain protected?

I do I’m from the Midwest. What do denominations are considered evangelicals? I’m baptist but don’t consider myself evangelical. I just took a quiz on if you’re evangelical I got 10 out of 31 lol. But it did have some odd questions.Frau Holle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 8:06 amDo you visit the middle of the country often?Lemons wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 9:18 pmEvangelicals are not a majority. Religious people believe that. Most of your country is religious in the evangelical way.

You're the only one mentioning anything about extremists. What I am saying is not an extremist point of view, it's simply written in the bible and people believe it.SouthernIslander wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 10:55 amWe can agree to disagree. I just go by the broad definition, although I know many different people within each religion have different beliefs.
"As a trans-denominational coalition, evangelicals can be found in nearly every Protestant denomination and tradition, particularly within the Reformed, Baptist, Wesleyan, Pentecostal and charismatic churches."

Yes, because you’re implying extremists as the norm or the majority of this country and it’s not.Frau Holle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:44 amYou're the only one mentioning anything about extremists. A lot of Baptist don’t consider themselves evangelical. I defiantly don’t either.hockeymom87 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:18 amI do I’m from the Midwest. I grew up in the Midwest and I’m in the Bible Belt now I’m a baptist and always have been and never heard that we’re cursed if we don’t support Israel. And I have always heard and believe that no one besides God knows when Jesus will come back and nothing we do can make it happen faster slower.Frau Holle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 9:17 amI’m in the Bible Belt right now and I’ve heard things like that said plenty of time. Yes, they do. I can’t even think of historically relevant inhuman acts done on a large scale level that didn’t have to do with a religious reason that allowed people to think it was ok.
