Older people take the front seats here. So say for example when we used to give DH's grandma rides places. Out of respect we gave her the front passenger seat. In your situation the DD is being rude especially if she's been told.

That's exactly how I was raised and I'm raising my kids the same way.

My baby is good in the backseat so there's no need for me to sit back there and I'm glad that I'm not naive enough to think she was being considerate.
😂 this is so trashy.

Just state what you want and state it without any attitude. The sooner she realizes that she's not getting a rise out of you, the sooner she might let up.

What did she say or do when you politely asked her to get out of your seat?
I said " sorry girl but that's my spot " with a huge fake smile on my face and she looked at her dad and then moved with a huge fake smile on her face.
I thought she broke up with her SO. If they got back together that's fine. But the daughter may not be pleased about it. I wouldn't argue nor fight. I'd probably sit with my baby actually but whatever.

You don't have to solve everything by being rude.

How was I rude? I would think that her thinking it's ok to take my seat was rude. Usually spouses sit together.

Calling her "girl" with a huge fake smile. people often offer the front seat to adult guests.

Maybe she thought you wanted to sit in the back with the new baby? Lots of women seem to want to sit next to their babies in the back seat for a while after they are born. I don't know. Just throwing it out there.

honestly? you're divorcing her dad so why do you care if she takes a front seat?
