Did they or didn’t they use a white supremacy symbol???
The military really isn’t bigoted- at least when we were a military family for 21 years we knew a bunch of good people in the USA and Europe. Good people of different races and nationalities who all worked together and cared.
This seems to be an overreaction.
They were acting like nitwits. Probably your ex husband did the same.

The military isn't bigoted? Seriously?!

I could never imagine being as idealistic as you.

He and the others were Officers ( college graduates who went to OTS) pilots and navigators, all working together and all Americans of different races and nationalities , all able to support and defend each other. Families supporting each other .
We knew that the Enlisted were more likely to be prejudiced and lacking in concern for others. They barely made it through high school and were drafted in the 1960’s. Big difference.

I hope this is not how you feel about today's enlisted folks.

The OP used the word “hate “. It’s an exaggeration and I disagree with the labeling of the military as “ hating”.

I disagree with the title of this thread.
But I also disagreed with the accusation that all members of the military are “ nit wits”.
We were a military family until 1987. I don’t know if the current batch of enlisted or officers are any different. But it’s true that higher education is responsible for more mature , accepting behavior and less irresponsible prejudiced behavior (and fewer “nit wits”)
The effect of higher education on civilians is also positive.

I can promise you that my husband is far from uneducated. He had an associate's when he enlisted in 95'. He only stayed in for four years, but every one of his friends had at least an associate's when they enlisted. Now, every one of those men have at the very least a Master's and make 6 figures after having been out of the service for 20 years.
