I make my own fondant because the store fondant tastes like crud.
Here it is :
1 bag mini marshmallows
Cooking spray or crisco
1 tablespoon vanilla or any other flavoring
1 bag confectioners sugar
Coat a microwave safe bowl with the spray/crisco.
Put the marshmallows and flavoring in and microwave for 1 minute.
Stir.
If not smooth microwave for 30 sec. repeat until smooth.
Add confectioners sugaruntil a dough like consistanc. Should not be sticky.
Store by spraying plastic wrap and putting fondant in the wrap. Place in a airs tigt container.
Done!
The best fondant

Thanks for this
The oranges of the island are like blazing fire
Amongst the emerald boughs
And the lemons are like the paleness of a lover
Who has spent the night crying.

MMF is MUCH better than store bought. The store bought tastes like chalk. Bleh. I rarely make it anymore as I don't make cakes very often, but when I did I always made my own MMF.

I started making it after I bought a box of Duff fondant. It was hard, very hard to kneed, and tasted gros even with flavoring.

How many oz in your bag of powdered sugar? My store has 2 sizes.
I will definitely try this. Every other fondant I've tried was no better than tire patch.

Marshmallow fondant is the bomb! Use coconut oil instead of crisco and you have a yummy coconut flavored fondant. Don't forget to put tylose in it to stiffen it if you need it to be firm, otherwise it becomes very soft and marshmallowie. We used marshmallow fondant for my daughter's birthday dragon cake and I didn't put tylose in it and it got really soft and gooey when it wasn't in the fridge. It was still yummy but needed to be kept in the fridge!!
