I would need a before picture if that’s the after picture. Also the yard would look better without that swingset

I didn't take any. But we are getting rid of the swingset and replacing it with one we saw at Costco.

No those are weeds. They did haul the bush trimmings away.

I didn't notice at first and you can't see in the pic but there's a wooden box on the ground surrounding them. DH said maybe he thought they wanted them to be kept there because of that but I still think it's odd. Who keeps weeds?

A wooden box is a planting box so it is safe to say that they assumed you didn't want those removed. They should have double checked with you though. A lot of people prefer to weed their own planting boxes.
