A legal deadline has prompted a rush of sexual assault lawsuits against high-profile figures including Axl Rose, Sean "Diddy" Combs and New York Mayor Eric Adams.

The list of names has grown this week, with some being accused of abuse that allegedly took place decades ago.

That's in part because a New York law, the Adult Survivors Act, is due to expire on Friday.

This is absurd…

Alllllllll these people felt like they had to hurry up and sue dozens of different celebrities for crimes committed decades ago before time ran out?

Agree with SlimShady. No proof at all.

I agree with the exception of Diddy. I can see why women were afraid to speak out against him until Cassie filed.

Meh…watching how sexual abuse/harassment survivors have been treated, gaslit, etc over the years on stands and the lengths people will go to to cover up sexual misconduct of high profile people, I’m not sure I’m overly worried about someone being wrongly accused. The deadline is fast approaching, so it makes sense that many people have finally made up their mind about bringing it to court while they still can.

That is true and the internet has made it a lot harder for celebrities to hide in plain sight like they use too.

I’m not saying false allegations don’t happen but some of these high profile men had this coming for years. I might be totally wrong for feeling this way, but the magnitude of abuse and crimes Diddy has gotten away with, I really don’t feel sorry for him if he gets lied on.

Idk about Eric Adams and Axl Rose though. I don’t know much about them or their history.

I think it’s a mix of both. Sexual abuse isn’t easy to talk about, so it takes a substantial amount of time for some victims to even verbalize it. But the women who have been caught lying has made it hard for the ones who aren’t and we don’t hold them accountable like we should IMHO.

I just take it case by case. I haven’t seen or heard anything about Jamie Fox, Axl Rose or Eric Adams so I’m not judging them until I see more details.
