If Bush didn't weigh in people would whine about that. I wasn't a fan of his but the man's doing what he can. As far as helping racial tension at least he didn't contribute to it like our divider in chief is doing.

I don’t agree with Kanye saying George Bush hates black people but Bush didn’t do much but spend all our money in Iraq. Still we need all the positive messages possible since none are coming from the current White House.

And Obama? He set race relations back 50 years. The great divider.
