Last year Gavin Mccinnes, founder of hate group Proud Boys, spoke in Manhattan at a Republican Group. Antifa, an extreme left wing group protested outside vandalizing the building.

McCinnes spoke to about 100 people there and for some reason they thought it was cute when he did a skit of a true story when a far right wing Japanese person killed a leader of the Japanese Socialist Party live TV. It wouldn't' have been complete without Mccinnes wearing glasses with caricatured Asian eyes drawn on them.

When MCinnes came out, Antifa was there and the fights began.
Tuesday, two members of the Proud Boys, Maxwell Hare and John Kinsman, were each sentenced to four years in prison by a State Supreme Court judge in Manhattan, who criticized their participation in a “political street fight.”

Justice Mark Dwyer said the punishment was meant in part to deter others who seek to resolve political differences through partisan violence.
“I know enough about history to know what happened in Europe in the 30s when political street brawls were allowed to go ahead without any type of check from the criminal justice system,” he said.

“We don’t want that to happen in New York,” Justice Dwyer added, “especially at this time in the country when people are so divided.”

Mr. Hare and Mr. Kinsman were among ten men who prosecutors said attacked four people protesting a speech at the Metropolitan Republican Club by the Proud Boys founder, Gavin McInnes.

The masked protesters, who did not cooperate with the police, were believed to be self-described anti-fascists.

Both defendants were convicted in August of attempted gang assault, attempted assault and riot. Seven others charged in the incident pleaded guilty.

It's too bad we can't get Joey Gibson put away for a few years. He is our local Proud Boy leader and he is truly an asshat. He wasn't a good person BEFORE he joined the Proud Boys and he is worse now (small area so he was known prior to his affiliation with the PB).

I am not a fan of them but I don't see why they're considered a "hate group". because their group exclusively accepts men? its a fraternal organization FFS. all races/sexualities are welcome, says so on their site.

lemme guess, the ADL made that call? the same idiots who consider bowl haircuts and the ok hand gesture to be "hate" symbols.

and antifa initiated the fight with them, its on video so why such a harsh penalty? must be a leftist "activist" judge.

The KKK is a fraternal organization too. It’s a hate group and antifa is a violent group. The videos, and there were a lot, gave a detailed picture of who did what.

You can’t always claim a judge is biased when you don’t agree with the outcome. He gave his reasons. The others pled guilty, including some antifa and got lighter sentences.
