Congressional Democrats will file a legal brief in federal court on Tuesday asserting that President Trump’s promotion of his Doral resort for the G-7 summit was further evidence he has violated the Emoluments Clause, despite his decision to reverse course.

The initial announcement last week — from Trump’s acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, as he stood behind the official White House podium — provided the president’s personal property with “invaluable publicity” that in and of itself may amount to an emolument, a House Democratic source said. https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politi ... 01638.html

Eh, they should probably let it go. There’s enough damage he’s doing with our foreign affairs to remove him.

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree with this. A few months ago, any little morsel of crap from him was necessary. Now, not so much. I think the focus should be on the Ukraine affair. Throwing around other things will just distract from the strong case. Especially when he ultimately retracted and no actual consequence came from it.

I think they should use it in the sense that it bolsters the pattern of self-dealing already established by trump golfing at his properties every weekend and foreign officials encourage to stay at his hotels.

It could be used to show a pattern of abuse of power, sure. No harm in keeping it pinned to a side, just in case. But I do think it should be an afterthought and the focus should be the Ukraine issue and his other foreign relations disasters.

I think that the abuse of power with regards to Ukraine is enough to get him impeached. But I also think the other 12+ lawsuits should move through the court system even if Trump were removed from office.

No, I'd like to see all the evidence laid out clearly and concisely. Also, Lindsay Graham should be removed as he is a sycophant toady in the extreme.

I'm sure the House will include it when they put together the Articles of Impeachment. I'm guessing there will be five listed.

But I'm still the winner! They lied! They cheated! They stole the election!
