Certainly a phrase I'd like to see phased out. But not comparable to the estimated 4,000 - 5,0000 people brutally murdered in US by lynching.

Also not comparable to the millions killed during the Holocaust but it didn’t stop AOC and other Dems from comparing immigrant detention centers to Nazi concentration camps.

There is no law saying they have to hold a vote to do an inquiry. This is not a trial. That takes place in the Senate where Trump will get to mount is "defense", such that it is. Republicans on the relevant committees are in during the testimonies.

The "trial" happens in the Senate. That's when the presidents legal counsel can defend him. I have already admitted that I'm not pleased with how the House is handling this. I haven't seen Pelosi direct the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary (or a special committee) to hold a hearing on the resolution to decide whether to put the measure to a vote by the full chamber and when to hold such a vote. That makes them look suspicious as hell to me.

In just the few weeks, tide has changed and the majority of Americans want to see impeachment. After Taylor's testimony, Republicans from swing states are going to be worried about voting against impeachment. This past month has seen testimony that is pretty damning and the proceedings have been totally within the bounds of the Constitution. Pelosi will have a vote to impeach and she will have bi-partisan support. This is easier for the American public to understand than a vote for inquiry with only democrats supporting, if that makes sense.

Remember the conspiracy theory about Obama installing check points on American roads?
