Holocaust remembrance group invites Ocasio-Cortez to tour Auschwitz with survivor
"The opportunity you will have of visiting the German Nazi Concentration Camps along with Mr. Mosberg, a 93 year old survivor of history's most brutal genocidal regime, will enable you to become a witness of a witness, something that our generation will sadly be the last to do, as result of the fact that the survivors are passing away at an ever increasing rate," Daniels wrote in the invitation.

Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying she was rejecting the offer as she believed it was part of how "the far-right manipulates these moments for political gain." (via twitter)

She was never going to accept that invitation.

She already knows everything about concentration camps, what more could she possibly learn from an actual survivor of one? In fact, I bet she'd be able to teach him a thing or two because there's no way someone born in the 20's could be as woke as her.

I would consider it a great honor to even speak with a 92 year old Holocaust survivor from Auschwitz much less actually going to the site with him.

I think she should have agreed to go with him. Conversely, I think he should be allowed to view a detention camp with AOC. After that I would be interested in what they both have to say.

Has she ever even been to one?

I don't know. I have, but does that matter?

If she’s comparing them to one another she should know what they actually are.

Of course she refused. It would be a LEARNING experience, and now way in heck does that self-styled KNOW IT ALL need to learn a thing!

I'm coming to discover that unless AOC is basking in admiration and adoration from others, she doesn't care to really do much about proving her political/social points.

If you argue with her, you're a racist and xenophobe. If you question her, she dismisses you with a giggle or rolling of her eyes.

That she didn't want to take him up on his offer is no surprise. This is not the first time she's turned down an invitation. There was one only a few weeks ago from a potential contender for her position in the 14th district who wanted a debate. AOC, of course, refused.

She loves being heard/seen, and loves attention. She's at a very narcissistic time in her political career and ultimately, it may end up hurting her greatly.
