White supremacy has been rising all over the world, not just in Trump country. White people wanting things to go back to they way they were when whites were the vast majority in their worlds.
Trump and other nationalist leaders are often quick to distance themselves from the far-right extremists who perpetrate this kind of violence. But the fact that the rise in extremism and domestic terrorism coincides with a rise in the number of nationalist leaders around the world seems impossible to ignore.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an organization focused on tracking extremist activity, found last year that white supremacist murders in the US "more than doubled in 2017," with far-right extremist groups and white supremacists "responsible for 59 percent of all extremist-related fatalities in the U.S. in 2017." They were responsible for 20% of these fatalities the year before.
Trump never lets facts get in his way but hopefully Americans are paying attention. This is the real crisis.
