Because it sounds right to me. No country is truly capitalist or socialist. Examples of socialism here are EIC, social security, welfare, perhaps state scholarships for college. And most Republicans aren't all that fond of them. Democrats are. So that's why I asked you what doesn't she understand?
Those are not examples.
They're social programs are they not? But I'm not going to keep going back and forth with this. I'm not going to attempt to drag answers out of you about what I don't understand and why my examples are wrong. So we'll just agree to disagree and I'll do some reading about socialism and other political systems instead.
They are Government Programs
They are Wealth Redistribution Programs

In the United States they are funded by taxation on our Capitalist System.

It is not Socialism.

Have you heard of sources such as encyclopedias?
Wiki collects information just like an encyclopedia does.
Same can be said about Google.
You just type in the subject matter and you get answers and sources.
I realize it’s not as awesome as Patriot Post...😂... but...

right or wrong

I laugh that anyone thinks that wiki is a source

"a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."

This (thankfully) does not occur in the United States.

How is Canada a socialist country?
Canada has forms of socialism, it’s not 100% a socialist country. I said there were no 100% socialist countries, just countries who aren’t afraid of the word and know how to use it correctly.

In this country middle class republicans have been conditioned to see it as evil even when they dont fully understand it and it’s in their own best interest. They fight against taxing the 1% harder than the 1% does.
Written by someone who doesn't understand it at all.
You’re the one who doesn’t understand it or much of anything else.( unless it’s some phony site such as “Patriot Post”)

Wealth redistribution sounds a hell of a lot like socialism. But apparently I'm an idiot and I've got to spend my capitalist dollars buying dinner so I'll not worry right now.

It doesn't - but that's okay
Have a nice dinner.

A system where the means of production and distribution are controlled by the Government.

A Capitalist System where production and distribution are owned by private entities that are then taxed to provide for public works and to redistribute income.

They sound exactly the same.

Wait -
No they do not.

I notice the people who say “socialism bad, you don’t understand!” never seem to be able to put into their own words why. It’s like they were told so and it’s good enough for them. No thinking for yourself involved.

They just quote black and white statements. No one is talking about a 100% socialist state but they have been so indoctrinated into believing the word is evil they can’t even think about alernatives.

Social safety nets are not socialism. The means of production is solidly in the hands of private capital.
