It’s amusing.TheQueenOfEverything wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 10:04 pm well we wouldn’t want you to waste one more moment of your precious, valuable time on us! there’s a little red “x” at the top of your screen, just one little click and we’ll be out of your hair, leaving you to all the better things you have to do.mater-three wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:59 pm
When I write papers, I do so for my honors English class in college. I don't have time to argue with a bunch of strangers about stupid shit...obviously.
So what actually is "socialism"

The problem with sourcing wikipedia is any jackass can go into any article and edit the thing to say whatever they want it to say.

Was there something about the actual content of her post you wanted to dispute?

Nope. I dont take a wikipedia source serious enough to devote a great deal of time thinking about.TheQueenOfEverything wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:08 pm Was there something about the actual content of her post you wanted to dispute?MysticDreamer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 3:20 pm The problem with sourcing wikipedia is any jackass can go into any article and edit the thing to say whatever they want it to say.

Editing a page is easy.MysticDreamer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 3:20 pm The problem with sourcing wikipedia is any jackass can go into any article and edit the thing to say whatever they want it to say.
Making an edit to say something incorrect (or even insufficiently sourced) AND have that edit not get reverted within 48 hours is harder than you might realise, on topics where other editors have a clue (and they have clue-full editors on a very very wide range of subjects).
But, like I said, wikipedia wasn't the source of what I wrote - just a convenient place to refer people onto for further information. And I checked the specific pages I linked to, to make sure they were ok, so if you are worried just look at the frozen archived versions of those pages from the date I posted my second reply.
If you enjoy reading books, try "Robert Owen’s Experiment at New Lanark" by Ophélie Siméon or "Robert Owen: Social Visionary" by Ian Donnachie.
If you like academic papers, there's a ton out there, starting with : https://doi.org/10.1016/0191-6599(92)90247-A
If you're ok with encyclopedias, just not wikipedia, try Britannica:
