I don't think this is a new thing but maybe "new" in the sense that it's coordinated. Was away for a vacay with my daughter and was listening to pod casts where "blocking" was suggested as a type of protest. These were old podcasts and not related to current war in Gaza.

Wouldn't this be considered a subtile form of peaceful protest? I mean other than being a PITA for those who are blocked, it doesn't really cause harm. It's not a "right" or "left" thing either as both sides have suggested "blocking".

I guess I'm just not seeing the outrage. Why is this outrageous?

I don't think democrat or republican congressmen, celebrity sponsors of "woke" products (how is a product woke, lol), the Rock, JK Rowlings, Musk, and a myriad of others who have been subjected to a social media block campaign really gave a crap other than it messing with their social media algorithms.

That was your antisemitism showing according to the most recent definition at the time. You don't want them being supported by Americans taxes in the States, but you're fine to support them with Americans tax dollars if they make Aliyah.

It does cause harm. Actually, the point is to have these celebrities lose social media activity which can affect the revenue they get from social media ads and have their content- which sometimes includes advertising and promotion- show less and less even to those not blocking them.
