I think it's mean that she did that. I don't find this funny, or cute. She upset him, clearly. He feels strongly about being vegan. I don't know why she thought this would be a funny thing to do.

However, the way he acted was disrespectful, it's clear where he gets it from.

This. The feeling I got was that he knew she was pulling his leg and he was just giving her the response that he thought she wanted.

I think this type of staged video recorded teasing is actually disrespectful to the child (which leads me to consider if that is why he is reciprocating in such a manner to his mom).
