how many posts are you going to make about his death here? We get it. You don't care that he's dead, you don't see why it's a big deal & you don't like the protests. We get it.

I never implied that.
No, you didn't. You wrote that no one should have to die the way he did. As if it was some unfortunate thing that befell the man when, in fact, it was nothing of the sort. What happened to him is that one man tried, convicted, and executed him over the course of 9 minutes and with the approval of his peers using unlawfully the authority given to him by a government devoid of moral compass.
Bullshit. Some out of control cop did something really reprehensible. I doubt it was motivated by racism. But it doesn’t matter because we are all making it truly divisive in a time when we need to come together.

Allowing the stupidity, arrogance, and general depravity of one man to chart the course of our country is the definition of insanity.
Racism may not have been the direct cause, but it certainly enabled this murder.

And "one man?" ONE MAN???? I saw 4 on the video. I saw 3 in the month of May. I've seen, what...a hundred in my lifetime? More?

And if you really want to come together, listen more and shout less. There are uncomfortable but necessary lessons here to be learned.

Executing innocents citizens is only for the rioters. They can kill and injure whoever they want whenever they want because well because they the rioters are even higher above the law then the police officers. We get it we so get it. We so see the double standard with this fake outrage by so many rioters. How many innocent people, porn stars, criminals, police officers, elderly women, are the rioters allowed to kill?
So stop the bs about george....rioters are executing completely innocent people and its people like you that are allowing to continue.
The looting and the rioting and the violence is 100% wrong and I can't argue that point hard enough.

The thing is though...you want everyday, common people to abide by a social contract which states that people don't go around being all looty and violent, right? But when the social contract is broken, then it is BROKEN. The social contract says that black people can't be murdered in the streets by police (George), rednecks in pickup trucks(Ahmaud), and dumbfucks who can't tell the difference between a pack of Skittles and a weapon (Trayvon). The social contract says black folks have the right to carry with a permit and not get shot by a cop (Philando). The social contract says cops can't shoot you on your own couch whilst playing video games (Atatiana) or while you are just sleeping there (Botham.)

You want people to obey laws? You want everyone to live up to their end of the bargain? Okay. But it is a two way street. What you see is a very predictable consequence of this country's ambivalence regarding black lives..

I understand that the man was positively no saint.

But stay on topic. The man died under the knee of another man.

I have become very outspoken about what happened to Mr. Floyd. People should be outraged by what was done to him. But I will never say that he was a hero. I will say, though, that as a result of his murder, change may occur. I surely hope it does.

He is a superhero in death, though. He's bringing about some much needed change in this country.

You're confused.
I'm not confused at all. Many people are saying things like that. People are saying he is their personal hero and shit like that too.

This is something that I think most people haven't even considered.
What this cop did was inexcusable. EXCESSIVE FORCE needs to be addressed. MANY police policies need to be changed. And though I have long believed that racism is more of an issue in this country than what people care to admit & we are all sick and tired of it, we all need to wait and see all the evidence before we declare this cop a racist. I'll be interested to see what all the (18) complaints were about this officer.

Another thing that will totally make people flip their lids: Not that I could imagine that any police department would have a policy that instructs police officers to use this "knee on the neck" maneuver, but can you imagine if this particular police department does have a policy of this nature on the books? If they do and any of these charged cops has this policy in writing in their possession, all of these cops will walk. And God help all of us if they do.

Google Harding street raid. It was 2 white people in their home with their dog. They were shot and killed while they were inside and the police were outside. The police department is fighting this tooth and nail.

We need police reform. We need to hold police accountable and while I’m sorry Mr Floyd lost his life let’s not forget about ALL the people who have been killed by police.
