Deep down inside we do care what people think. It's why we bathe, don't spit in the street and wear clothes. I think what these people mean is I don't excessively worry because if I do I'm going to cripple and kill myself with anxiety and stress. Which is what is going to happen to you unless you accept all this is human nature and get a sense of humor.
