LOL, that didn't even occur to me. I was thinking more along the lines of porn type stuff. I have some things I'd like to write about, but they are extremely personal to the life I've lived.

I only have one account. I couldn't keep track of two or more. But I understand what you mean.
12skipafew wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:31 pm Inappropriate would be trying to use it as a bitch blog to complain about other members or posting obscene or threatening material. I don’t mind when people post about more sensitive topics like S*x, religion, money, etc.

I think I am going to keep accounts separate. There’s a way to bridge phpbb accounts with Wordpress but there’s so many people with multiple accounts and usernames that don’t fit the Wordpress requirements, mainly symbols in usernames, that it makes more sense to keep it separate.

The main difference between a blog and a forum is that a forum post usually has minimum information and used to ask something or vent with everyone to start a discussion. A blog post is well thought out, usually longer, and has more information. It’s used to inform rather than ask or vent and isn’t about discussion with others. An article and blog post are pretty much the same thing but blogs tend to be more personal or share an opinion the blog writer has.

12skipafew wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:00 am Yea, plus the blog entries need approved by me before going up on the site so if we do get anything out of line or inappropriate it can be disapproved. I understand completely that some people either write about sensitive topics or are concerned about keeping their personal information safe so I am in complete support of anonymous posting. It would be like on here though where I would need to know who is posting, this time instead of for moderating purposes it would be for ad sharing reasons.
What kinds of things would be out of line or inappropriate?

Would a separate account with a different screen name be available?

I never read The Stir so I'm not familiar with what I guess is blogging.

Cool, hmmm, what could I share on a mom confessions blog? It feels sort of egotistical to list all my faux expertise, HAHAHA!

Pink Butterfly could guest write on alternative/complimentary treatments.

I still toy with the idea of creating a blog, not about motherhood though, career/profession related, but I never get around to it, but maybe someday. I could pay you to help me get it the tech of the site, up and going :) as I took my one & last html class *ahem in 2004* a long time ago, lol. So I'm pretty ignorant...

12skipafew wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 11:02 am Anything really, it could be a personal story, it could be general advice, it could be about something you do as a hobby, etc. As long as it relates to you as a mom somehow and isn’t a typical mommy blog post that has been done to death like the 10 best breastfeeding tips lol.
😂 well there goes anything I would blog about - best family travel destinations and activities, what showed up in my kids’ Stitchfix boxes (for their spring break trip 😂), recipe ideas, and my new Peloton.

You’re making me feel like I’m lacking in depth 😂.
I have an old guide to Disney that I wrote for my friends. I can probably dust it off and update it. I’ve stayed at every Disney deluxe resort and the Four Seasons they built on Disney property (that’s what inspired me to write the Disney guide for my friends - they talked me into staying at the Four Seasons and it completely lacked the “magic” I expect from a Disney vacation).

I could also write a post on how to spend spring break in the Caribbean for “less,” but by “less” I mean a substantially lower cost than Beaches Turks & Caicos or Atlantis in the Bahamas, which definitely doesn’t equate to a budget vacation.

I cheated and used a pre-made theme with some customization for the blog. You could potentially have an entire Wordpress website without doing any HTML at all. Just use their pre-made templates and plugins (it’s better option for a blog, 100% custom websites are expensive and take a while to make)

But, I’ll help you out if you ever want to, I’ll even throw in a momconfessions discount lol

It’s the platform used to build a site on, like the software you would use make a website work. This site uses phpbb and it’s not easy to use because it requires a lot of technical knowledge and knowing php which I really don’t know a whole lot about. Wordpress is user friendly and more widely used. Most small businesses use WordPress to build their websites.
