What part of "We will not be celebrating Thanksgiving do you not understand

My mil and Fill are driving me crazy. They have known months in advance that we will not be celebrating Thanksgiving this year. My husband has an international business trip scheduled which my 21 yo son ,my 18 yo daughter isn't coming home from school due to work and I have made plans to go shopping and sight seeing with my sisters and mother in NYC. Once again they have known this in advance......
Today I received an email of their menu and what I'm expected to bring. I emailed back that I will not be attending or bringing anything to their dinner. That's when the massive guilt trip began. "It's bad enough that our son won't make it but you are a truly horrible person to not make sure our grandchildren won't come see us for the holiday and now your being too damn lazy to come and see us knowing this might be our last Thanksgiving.....I just responded " oh please. Everyone has an expiration date. We just don't know when it is. Do not contact me anymore about this subject. If you have anything else to say direct it to your son I have nothing left to say about it.....
