I'm only asking because we had a discussion about it earlier. I know I can google it but I'm old school and like opinions. How much do you usually give for a wedding gift if you give money/check? Does it differ depending on the closeness of your relationships? (ex: family vs a friend's child).

I'm not looking for myself because I do a counted cross stitch for each couple and we give a small check along with it but we couldn't really figure out the appropriate/normal amount so....

Depends on the relationship. There is an online calculator that gives weirdly specific dollar amounts though.

Depending upon the relationship, we give $100-$250. But I am also at the inbetween stage - no weddings or even engagements for my age group and my daughter's friends are not at that stage in life either.

Varies based upon relationship. We usually give $200 unless it’s someone close to us.

When we didn't have much money, we gave 25.00 but now we give 50.00.

If there's a registry, I usually pick something off that, but if we give money it's somewhere between 150-250

Yes it depends on the relationship. I also take venue into account. I would give at least give $100 even $200 but would give more if it was my sister say over a neighbor.

I gift from the registry if there is one. The amount of a cash gift depends on how close that person is to us or if they're a relative.

I don't think there's one right answer because everybody's budget is different.

I don’t know... I’ve never given cash, I always get something off the registry.
