I have no objection to users deleting an entire topic when they feel they are done discussing. I just feel it's their right to do that. (And there's one particular user who I definitely don't blame her for deleting because old posts are always then used against her.)

But I do agree that it's frustrating when a user deletes their original post but not the entire thread. I think when that happens, the user intended to delete the whole thread but didn't know how to do it properly.
