TANF is almost never fully paid back, and rarely paid back at all. It’s absolutely welfare.

Youre only allowed to draw a certain amount in a life time and unless you have like 5 kids you sont get that much so it isnt rarely paid back anyone who has ever recieved and child support paid it back

It is 40 month not 60 and you have to comply with child. If you get paid child support they take a portion of it until is is paid in full. . I never said it is ALWAYS paid back .

I don't consider money you get from the government like farm subsidies or money when you foster a kid or tax credits as welfare. If you are taking in foster kids I don't even consider TNcare or whatever health care or food stamps you get for that child-welfare either.

I don't consider survivor SS benefits welfare. Or disability or veteran's benefits or SS.

I do consider welfare-when you are just poor-full stop and make no to so little money they give you everything for free just for breathing.

Farm subsidies are the epitome of welfare, just like corporate incentives (see NYC and Amazon).

The cap is 60 months through the federal government, but states may make it shorter, as they execute the TANF program individually. Your link says 48 months but you just wrote 40 months.

TANF isn’t paid back if there’s no child support (ie married couple, undeclared bio parent, bio parent cannot be found, bio parent unemployed). So MUCH of TANF is never paid back.

That 40 i wrote was a typo. But it still isnt 60. A whole year difference. Most people who get tanf are single mothers. Yea some married people get it but it is more difficult to get it married. If the absence father start paying child support they take it out of child support . And the child support enforcement works harder to get child support for a child who receives tanf then one that doesn't and since it such a small amount it doesn't take long to pay it back

It the ncp starts paying they get it back. And child support enforcement works harder to get it if the child receives tanf than if they dont. If the ncp receives a settlement they will also take it from that along with post owed child support.
