Than American. I am pricing a trip for Memorial Day weekend. Southwest. Flight only. $2300. American Airlines and hotel $1500. Same exact dates. Pretty close on flight times.

If you or your spouse is a Vet, check out this link. They offer really cheap tickets to local events and concerts. I have done a lot of cool stuff through them.

Thought Southwest was supposed to be the cheaper airline? I don't fly, so honestly I don't know. I do remember them touting in the 90's the rock bottom flight prices to fly to Vegas. ~shrug~

That's weird. Sometimes they're a little higher. They don't charge for bags, so they just bump the price up so you think you're getting a deal. LOL

I've found Southwest to be cheaper and it's a bonus that you are allowed to check two bags, and one carry-on free, unlike most airlines

Southwest has always been cheaper for me. They don't charge for baggage either, which is great.

In my experience, it just really depends on the number of tickets & luck in fares.
