If your 4 year old is watching Jason and Michael Myers, you're doing it wrong.

He has been tested. Nothing wrong with him apparently. No one ever worked with him and his parents don’t reinforce anything at home. It’s sad.
Oh no not the walking dead.... He clearly is traumatized by seeing zombies. There are child actors and actresses on TWD and have been since season one. No it's not a show meant for small children but I don't keep my kids from watching if they walk in the room. They were all reading well before kinder. The shows his family watches have nothing to do with his ability to learn or what he knows.

It isn't the movies that he watches that are the issue but I am sure you're already aware of that. Sadly the little boy sounds like he is an after thought and really needs his teacher to guide his way. Teachers make the hugest impact in children's lives we just don't always see it until later on. Be that impact on this little boy.

Personally, I’ve always been strict about what my kids watch regarding S*x and violence. What other parents choose to do is their business.

I agree that this doesn’t sound like an issue of the quality of the shows, but maybe it’s about quantity. Maybe all the kid does in his free time is watch TV and play video games and in that case, the type of show or game is really the least of the problems.

I agree. I wasn't at all saying it was ok that he doesn't have any educational skills at all. However, some parents just aren't as hands-on as others whether that be due to a lack of time with working or they just don't realize they are supposed to teach them these things. For all, we know this kid could be spending the good majority of his time with a babysitter who doesn't work with him at all and just parks him in front of a tv.

That doesn’t mean I don’t generally monitor what he watches and certainly doesn’t translate into me not caring about him or his discipline and behavior.

ETA: I didn’t realize those were horror movies until I googled. That’s pretty bad.
LMFAO! Well at least you didn't show them any wile e coyote or popeye or anything deranged like that🤣

While I don't think it's appropriate for young children to be watching movies like that, I don't think those movies are necessarily to blame for their shitty behavior. I'm surprised that as a teacher, you don't know that .

I agree with you. My kids are older teens and adults. I raised them with little censorship (obviously no porn) and to learn to censor themselves. If something didn't appeal to them they could turn it off, put it down if it was a book, leave the room if everyone else was enjoying whatever it was, etc. It worked very well. They learned to decide for themselves what they didn't enjoy.

That being said I grew up watching that stuff. And I didn't talk about it to fellow classmates at age 4, 5, etc. I grew up loving horror movies and still do.
I dont get Micheal Myers. Why is he so scary? According to the movie's he isnt anything supernatural. He is just some messed up, deranged psycho kid that for some reason people dont know how to kill. Why he wont die is beyond explanation, and thats what puts me off about him. At least Jason Voorhees is immortal which makes sense.

Neither of them can beat critters. To this day, they are the reason why I check the toilet before squatting.

I don't even know what that is, and if it's related to horror movies like the first page of comments is indicating, that would explain why. I hate horror movies myself so they don't even exist in my household.
